About Thibault

Can you share a bit about your background and what drew you to Epitech?

Before joining Epitech, Thibault explored digital systems and computer networks during his BAC Pro studies. However, his curiosity pushed him to seek more, particularly in development.

Thibault: “Well, before Epitech, I delved into the world of digital systems and computer networks during my BAC Pro. But my hunger for knowledge led me to seek more, especially in development. When I stumbled upon Epitech at a student fair, I was captivated by its project-based approach and the 4th year abroad  program, which resonated deeply with my love for travel and discovery.”

Embarking on the Epitech Academic Path

It sounds like Epitech offered the perfect blend of innovation and adventure. How did you envision your academic journey at Epitech?

Thibault: “The idea of diving into Epitech’s dynamic ecosystem excited me. I was intrigued by the prospect of facing challenges head-on, especially the renowned CPool. Though daunting at first, I was eager to embrace the journey and carve my path in the world of IT.”

Dreams of Studying Abroad

The year abroad must have been a pivotal moment for you. How did you feel about the opportunity to study abroad during your fourth year?

Thibault: “Studying abroad had always been a dream, and Epitech’s global exchange program was the perfect opportunity to turn that dream into reality. The prospect of spending a year immersed in a different culture, exploring new horizons, and expanding my professional and personal boundaries was simply irresistible.

Choosing Taipei Tech for the 4th year exchange program

You chose Taipei Tech for your exchange. What led you to this decision, and how was your arrival in Taiwan?

Thibault: “Taiwan intrigued me with its blend of tradition and modernity, and Taipei Tech offered a gateway to adventure. From the moment I landed in Taiwan, I was enchanted by the lush greenery and warm hospitality. Despite a few initial hiccups, like encountering a wasp nest near my flat and having some culinary surprises, my first impressions of Taiwan were overwhelmingly positive.

Adapting to a new learning environment

How did you adapt to the Taiwanese learning environment, and what were your favorite courses at Taipei Tech?

Thibault: “Adapting to a new learning environment was a journey in itself, but I embraced the challenge completely. I particularly enjoyed courses in UI/UX design, operating systems, and reverse engineering. These experiences not only enriched my academic knowledge but also provided valuable insights into Taiwanese culture and innovation.

Personal and Professional Growth

Studying abroad undoubtedly shapes one’s personal and professional growth. How do you think your year in Taiwan will influence your future?

Thibault: “My year abroad has been a transformative experience, fostering independence, cultural appreciation, and a global mindset. From refining my language skills to expanding my network and embracing new challenges, every aspect of this journey has contributed to my professional and personal growth.”

Finally, what advice would you give to future tech4 Epitech students embarking on their own international adventures?

Thibault: “To my fellow adventurers, I say: Embrace the unknown, seize every opportunity to learn and grow, and never hesitate to step out of your comfort zone. Whether it’s navigating the bustling streets of Taipei or immersing yourself in a new culture, cherish every moment of your journey. And remember, the world is your classroom – make the most of it!
