For the 2022 edition of the “Summer School – Make your own robot”, ESME and Epitech have combined their strengths to offer a brand-new program in robotics with lots of exciting projects to work on. We have welcomed a total of 17 Bachelors and Master students from all over the world from diverse disciplines, such as computer & information sciences, engineering, MIM, biological sciences and many others.
By participating to the “Summer School 2022 – Make your own robot”, students had the opportunity to take part in the “Maker Movement” and learn about Electronics, Robotics, Creative Coding, CAD, Digital Art and Digital Manufacturing in a fun and informal way. Over the course of three weeks, they have studied and worked with their teammates in a creative and inspiring environment, having free access to our cutting-edge technologies (3D Printers, Laser Cutters, Digital Pen Plotter, Connected Objects, etc.).
Our program encompassed intensive courses and practical workshops led by our experts as well as survival French and intercultural workshops. Students have also had the chance to explore Paris, innovation and new technologies platforms, and meet with the French experts in the robotics field.
At the end of the program, students were able to program, assemble and design their own robot.
Exploring Paris & French culture
The Summer School is as much about having fun as it is about learning. Cultural activities and French language lessons have been a part of the summer program.
During the 3 weeks program many cultural and recreational activities have been organised such as: a guided walking tour of the city of Paris as well as a cruise boat tour on the Seine, an excursion to the Mont Saint-Michel in Normandy, visits to different museums (Le château de Versailles, Le Louvre & Quai Branly), art galleries (La Gaité Lyrique), theatre and many more.
