From 20 to 26 September, 3 of our partner universities from California have presented their international study options to Epitech students and answered all their questions during dedicated Q&A sessions.
In a globalized world, a high-level career, particularly in IT, cannot be achieved without an international dimension. Study abroad is one of the best ways students can acquire global skills and open up personal and professional opportunities. Concluding partnerships with over more than 100 institutions, our students have a variety of choices to find the university and destination of their dreams.

Good news! We have several partnerships with universities in California, currently offering 11 study exchange programmes to this destination.
Over the past few days, some of our partner universities from California have presented their international study options to Epitech students and answered all their questions during dedicated Q&A sessions. We had the pleasure to welcome in Epitech Paris our dear partners from San Francisco State University and University of California Los Angeles. The presentations were broadcasted live to all the other Epitech Campuses in France as well. Moreover, our partner from University of California Santa Barbara has also made an online presentation of their international programs to all Epitech students.
Throughout these presentations, our students had the opportunity to learn more about the different international programs and services offered. They were able to get more information regarding the application requirements, the education system, and information regarding student life on campus as well.
San Francisco State University

University of California Santa Barbara
The University of California, Santa Barbara (UC Santa Barbara or UCSB) is a public land-grant research university in Santa Barbara, California with 23,196 undergraduates and 2,983 graduate students enrolled in 2021-2022. It is part of the University of California 10-university system. Tracing its roots back to 1891 as an independent teachers’ college, UCSB joined the University of California system in 1944, and is the third-oldest undergraduate campus in the system, after UC Berkeley and UCLA.
Located on a WWII-era Marine air station, UC Santa Barbara is organized into three undergraduate colleges (College of Letters and Science, College of Engineering, College of Creative Studies) and two graduate schools (Gevirtz Graduate School of Education and Bren School of Environmental Science & Management), offering more than 200 degrees and programs. The university has 10 national research centers, including the Kavli Institute for Theoretical Physics and the Center for Control, Dynamical-Systems and Computation.
Current UCSB faculty includes six Nobel Prize laureates, one Fields Medalist, 39 members of the National Academy of Sciences, 27 members of the National Academy of Engineering, and 34 members of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. UCSB is classified among “R1: Doctoral Universities – Very high research activity” and is regarded as a Public Ivy. The faculty also includes two Academy and Emmy Award winners, and recipients of a Millennium Technology Prize, an IEEE Medal of Honor, a National Medal of Technology and Innovation and a Breakthrough Prize in Fundamental Physics.

« The presentation was very nice, the speaker provided a lot of details and made me dream about my 4th year; I had already started to see in front of my eyes all the beautiful beaches of Santa Barbara, how great my student life will be there etc. I will look out for more information about the courses. « The presentation was very concise, and I got all the information I needed. Personally, I ticked the little box next to the name of the university in my list of favorite destinations for my 4th year abroad (and that’s the only one for the moment).
The information I have retained is that their university is located in Southern California and it’s ranked the 6th best public university in the US. They have 6 professors that have a Nobel Prize. Regarding the sport cult, they have a large gym, lots of equipment, outfits, etc… They have a strong partnership and and good relationship with Epitech. We can have a professional degree by taking courses outside the technical base etc.
Besides the study/work aspect, the landscapes are amazing. The ocean is just next door and surfing, and paddle surfing are the main sports there. Regarding the accommodation, I understood that flats are available from the end of August / beginning of September for a course start mid-September which I think it could work perfectly for me. »

University of California Los Angeles
The University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) is a public land-grant research university in Los Angeles, California. UCLA’s academic roots were established in 1882 as a teachers college then known as the southern branch of the California State Normal School (now San José State University). This school was absorbed with the official founding of UCLA as the Southern Branch of the University of California in 1919, making it the second-oldest of the 10-campus University of California system (after UC Berkeley).
UCLA is considered one of the United States’ Public Ivies, and is frequently ranked among the best universities in the world by major college and university rankings
UCLA student-athletes compete as the Bruins in the Pac-12 Conference. The Bruins have won 119 NCAA team championships, second only to Stanford University’s 128 team titles. In total, 410 Bruins have made Olympic teams, winning 270 Olympic medals: 136 gold, 71 silver, and 63 bronze. UCLA has been represented in every Olympics since the university’s founding with one exception (1924) and has had a gold medalist in every Olympics the U.S. participated in since 1932.

“The presentation was complete on most topics. There was a guest: a teacher who was in charge of one of the programs offered. Thanks to that, we were able to get a more immersive explanation of the programme and not just a general presentation. The campus looks incredible with its different sites for both sports and study. It’s a shame we didn’t get more information about the accommodation and transport system, but that won’t discourage me from applying!”
