My international exchange experience in Epitech – Interview with David

“In Epitech I was able to learn all by myself with the help of expert advisors who provided me with the necessary guidance and resources. They never spoon-fed me but taught me how to find the answers and solutions on my own. This approach was challenging, but ultimately helped me to become more independent and develop critical thinking skills.”

About David

Meet David, a determined and ambitious Computer Engineering student from Huelva, Spain. In his final year at the University of Huelva, David decided to take advantage of the opportunity to study abroad and embarked on a journey to Epitech as part of the Erasmus mobility program. Driven by his interest in Artificial Intelligence, David is planning on pursuing a master’s degree in the field after finishing his current studies.

In this article, David shares his overall experience of studying at Epitech campus in Paris and the differences he found between the education system in Spain and the unique “Epitech way of learning”.

Why Epitech was the Right Fit for David:

“I first heard about Epitech when I was searching through the list of partner universities provided by my home university. The unique approach to education they offered caught my attention and I was particularly intrigued by their emphasis on project-based learning and entrepreneurship. I also learned that Epitech had a strong reputation in the field of technology and that studying there would give me valuable opportunities to learn from and network with different experts in the field of IT. And so, I decided to give it a try and apply to the Erasmus mobility program, and fortunately I got the chance to join Epitech and what a great experience it was to be part of it.” shares David, as he recounts his decision to study at Epitech.

Exploring the Contrasts: Comparing Education at Home University and Epitech’s Unique Learning Methodologies

When David arrived at Epitech, he was impressed by the innovative approach to education. Instead of traditional lectures, students at Epitech learn through a self-directed approach with the guidance and support of a team of dedicated expert advisors. David found this way of learning to be challenging, but also incredibly rewarding. He noted that the lack of traditional teachers pushed him to take ownership of his education and become more self-motivated and self-directed learner.

I was able to learn all by myself with the help of expert advisors who provided me with the necessary guidance and resources. They never spoon-fed me but taught me how to find the answers and solutions on my own. This approach was challenging, but ultimately helped me to become more independent and develop critical thinking skills.

Highlights of David’s experience at Epitech

One of the highlights of David’s experience at Epitech was the opportunity to work on a variety of exciting and meaningful projects. He found this approach to learning to be highly engaging and enjoyable.

Working on projects was one of my favorite parts of the program, it was more fun than just memorizing information; and the fact that you get to collaborate and work with people who will probably become your friends is an added bonus, it’s both fun and educational.

David also appreciated the flexibility of the program which enabled him to manage his time effectively and make the most of the opportunity to explore Paris and its surroundings. He enjoyed the freedom to balance work and leisure at his own pace, which enhanced the overall experience.

The flexibility of the program allowed me to balance my studies, work and leisure time. This gave me the opportunity to immerse myself in the culture and enjoy the city of Paris” he added.

David’s Favorite Things to do in Paris

David’s time in Paris was not just limited to studying and working on projects. He also had the opportunity to explore the city and make the most of his experience abroad. David loved going for walks in the beautiful city center, visiting museums and taking advantage of the fact that most of them are free on the first Sunday of each month. He also enjoyed indulging in the delicious French pastries and sweets at the local “Boulangeries et Patisseries” and spending time with the friends he made both inside and outside of the school, through the many extracurricular activities organized.

I felt like I truly immersed myself in the culture and took advantage of all that Paris had to offer. The friends I made, the experiences I had, and the memories I created will stay with me forever.

All this together, made his stay in Paris one of the most enriching and inspiring experiences of his life, and he highly recommend it to anyone who’s thinking of studying abroad.

David advice to our future international students

David’s experience at Epitech was a challenging but ultimately rewarding one. He highly recommends the program to anyone who is interested in technology and wants to learn in a unique and innovative way. His best advice for future international students at Epitech is to learn how to organize themselves effectively and manage their time well. The projects at Epitech can be demanding and take up a lot of time, but with proper organization and planning, they can be completed successfully. He also emphasizes the importance of building relationships and working collaboratively with peers. “It’s important to make a good amount of friends to help you whenever you need it, and to be willing to share your own knowledge with others as well. This kind of mindset will not only help you, but also your peers, which is ultimately more important than personal success.” he advises.

“Being a part of the Epitech community and learning from my peers helped me grow both academically and personally and I will always be grateful for this experience.”
