On Thursday 20 October, was held the very first edition of the Epitech Olympiads. This event was dedicated to our first-year students in Paris, and was both festive and competitive, allowing our newcomers to unwind, after the first part of the CPool.
There’s a French saying: after the effort, there comes the comfort. The first part of the CPool has been competed on Wednesday 19 October. As a reward, our first year students in Paris had the opportunity to participate in the Epitech Olympics, a great moment of fun organised by the academic team.
During the whole afternoon of 20 October, our first year students of the “Grande Ecole Program” competed (in a joyful and cheerful atmosphere) different group fun activities. Some of the activities included nerf target shooting, musical chairs, blindfolded obstacle course, Just Dance battles, robot races, puzzle solving and a video game tournament.
The 1st year students were also able to discover the activities of some of Epitech’s student associations, which had come to meet them specially for the occasion.
The goal: strengthening student relationships
The purpose of the Olympics? Needless to say, the students wanted to win for their team and represent it as well as possible. At the end of the day, different prizes were offered to the winning teams. From an educational point of view, this very first edition of the Olympics was also supposed to allow students to have a fun moment with all their friends, following the post-Covid period, which has definitely putted many restrictions on our social life these past years.
“As the fundamental values at Epitech are team spirit and solidarity, we wanted to organise an event during which the students could collaborate. The objective of these Olympiads is to helps students consolidate their team spirit that they first developed during the first part of the CPool, but this time through fun and sports activities. The aim was also to strengthen the bonds between students and the pedagogical team (APE and Astek) and to create lasting memories.”

“We wanted to give our students a moment of relaxation before releasing them for the neuroplasty (a 3-day resting period to help their brains process all the information accumulated in the CPool). We are proud of the work accomplished by all of our students during this Pool, and we wanted to offer them a fun event with the guiding teams and assistants in order to strengthen the ties that are essential to their academic journey.”
