Every year, Epitech hosts dynamic programs in either winter or summer in the vibrant city of Paris, welcoming students from all corners of the globe to immerse themselves in our renowned project-based learning style. Created by experts in the field of game development, the Epitech 2024 Winter School edition brought the best of innovation, creativity, and passion for technologies to offer students a unique experience. The Winter School program took place from January 2nd to January 19th, and we welcomed 26 students from 5 Korean universities, including Jeonju University, Kaywon University of Art and Design, Pai Chai University, Konkuk University, and students from our esteemed partner, Keimyung University. The program spanned three weeks, providing students with a unique opportunity to actively engage in hands-on projects, explore cutting-edge ideas, and participate in a range of extracurricular activities. This year’s Winter School theme was video game development, challenging students to unleash their creativity.
Agenda Outline
In the first week, students delved into Game Design Exploration. They formed international teams, brainstormed game concepts, defined core mechanics, and shaped their creative vision collaboratively. The second week saw them immersed in Video Game Development, where hands-on coding and design brought their concepts to life. The final week culminated in a presentation of their games, involving testing, feedback gathering, and creative showcases.

Beyond the academic curriculum, the Winter School aimed not only to impart knowledge but also to create an inspiring community where strong friendships flourished, and indelible memories were forged. Diverse cultural, social, and fun activities ensured that the stay in Paris was not just educational but thoroughly enjoyable.
Bateaux Mouches: Exploring Paris through a Seine Cruise
Despite a touch of rain and a gray sky, our Bateau Mouche adventure on the Seine was an absolute blast. We got to soak in the stunning views of Parisian landmarks, from the Eiffel Tower to the Louvre, all while enjoying the cool breeze and each other’s company. Laughter filled the air as we sailed through the heart of the city, creating unforgettable moments. The Bateaux Mouches adventure wasn’t just about the sights; it was a chance for Winter School participants to bond, share stories, and experience the magic of Paris together. Whether it was snapping pictures of the illuminated city at night or simply enjoying the unique perspective from the boat, this excursion became a highlight of their time in Paris. The camaraderie, the iconic landmarks, and the lively atmosphere made the Bateaux Mouches experience a cherished memory for everyone involved in the Winter School.
Breakfast at the Iconic Pastry Café Angelina in Paris
Starting the day at Angelina, a famous Parisian café, was a highlight for Winter School students. The cozy ambiance and the tempting spread of French pastries and hot drinks set a vibrant tone. It wasn’t just about the food; it was a chance for students to connect, chat, and enjoy the iconic setting. The breakfast at Angelina became a social hub, fostering friendships and creating a memorable start to each day in Paris.
Networking Cocktail
Winter School students seized the opportunity to mingle and connect with Epitech students during a Networking Cocktail at the Epitech Innovative Hub. From insightful conversations to moments of camaraderie, it was an evening of shared experiences and networking.
Cheese Tasting Evening
An organized cheese tasting evening allowed Winter School students to savor some of the most iconic types of French cheese, enhancing their cultural experience.
Having Fun at Disneyland Paris
A day at Disneyland Paris brought an extra dose of joy to the Winter School participants. The magical escapade into the enchanting world of Disney provided a well-deserved break from the intense academic activities. Students reveled in the diverse attractions, from thrilling rides to character meet-and-greets. The day concluded with the mesmerizing Disney Illuminations show, leaving everyone in awe.
Visiting the Montmartre Museum and Hotel de la Marine Museum
Exploring the artistic haven of Montmartre Museum and delving into the maritime history at Hotel de la Marine Museum offered Winter School students a cultural immersion. In Montmartre, they discovered the vibrant legacy of artists like Picasso and Modigliani, gaining inspiration from the creative atmosphere. The visit to Hotel de la Marine Museum unfolded a captivating journey through French naval history, enriching their understanding of heritage. These excursions added a cultural layer to the Winter School, expanding horizons and providing fresh perspectives that could influence their future endeavors.
